Dear Millennial,
It’s been a while. Just like you, I’ve been going through the motions of life… trying to figure things out, put a name to the emotions that I’ve been feeling, and filtering through all the noise to determine what truly matters most to me. For those currently fighting an internal battle against fear, distractions, negative self-talk, and whatever else may be holding you back. Imagine this…
It’s your last day on earth, and the last person you meet on your way out is the person that you were destined to become, had you just tried. Let that sink in…
An article I recently read summed up what I just shared as the definition of hell. This article highlighted how truly paralyzing fear and distractions can be, if we allow them to. Many have described fear with an acronym: (F)alse (E)vidence (A)ppearing (R)eal, an ideology that I’ve succumbed to more times than I’d like to admit. However, I can now say that those days are over. I share this lesson with you in hopes that you’ll have the same takeaway that I did. So let’s start holding each other accountable to our greatness!
It’s the “definition of hell” for me…
It truly shakes me to my core when I think about the possibility of not living up to my full potential, or not becoming my “best self” in this lifetime. I’d say that I’m an extremely humble person. However, I know for a fact that God created me for greatness! So I claim, right now, that my last day will be spent reflecting on what I’ve accomplished, not conversing with my reflection about who I could have previously become. I challenge you to do the same.
Every year since turning 30 years-old, I’ve made it a point to share a new project with you, or to reflect on a milestone. In honor of my 32nd birthday today, and this newfound knowledge that you and I have acquired about the definition of “hell”,I want to introduce you to my “something new” for this new year of life:
